Bologna Health Jobs  is specialized in recruiting and placing Locum Consultant Paediatricians in locum and contract positions in the Republic of Ireland.  We have also jobs for registrar doctors' in Paediatrics and we have placed many of these kind of professionals in the past in Ireland .

At this point in time we have the following Consultant and Registrar positions in Paediatrics in Ireland:

-  Consultant in Paediatrics for hospital in the South of Ireland.

-  Consultant in General Paediatrics for a hospital in the South-East of Ireland.

-  Consultant in Neonatology as from October-November 2020 for a  big university hospital in the West of Ireland.

- Consultant in Paediatrics with an interest in endocrinology for a hospital in the Dublin area.

- Registrar post in Paediatrics in the west of Ireland for the January 2021 intake. UK/Irish and/or European experience is a requirement for this post. You should also have basic neonatal experience.

- Registrar post in General Paediatrics for a big university hospital in Dublin for the January intake.

Basic Conditions for Consultants in  Paediatrics:


-   Initial contracts of 1 year or 6 months. Big opportunities to obtain permanent contracts for Consultants positions in the mid- term (1 or 2 years).


-   Possibility to do long term locums through our agency with attractive hourly rates (90€/hour) once you have been some experience in the country (at least 1-2 years).


-   Basic gross annual salary for Consultants in Paediatrics goes from €135,790 to €178,583 (39 hours week) + on-calls + 20% Private practice. Approximate net monthly salary of 6500-7500€ net/month after tax and pension deductions.


-   31 working days per Year holidays for Consultants+ public holidays (there is 9 in a year).


-   7 study days leave per year to attend conferences or further education for Consultants.


 -  Up to 3000€ for educational funding for Consultants.


-   Good working conditions and environment.


-   Allowance for children of 140€/month*child can be obtained once you become a resident if you have children under your responsibility.

Requirements and Qualifications for Consultants in Paediatrics:


-     Minimum of 6 years’ experience (after primary medical qualification) in the practice of the medical profession, of which no less than 5 have been devoted to Paediatrics (counting your residency period).


-  Very high level of English (at least C1). It is recomendable although not essencial that the doctors scored 7 points in average in the IELTs Academical test or alternatively  sits the OET test and obtains a score of at least a B Grade in average.


-    Registered with the IMC on the specialist register for Paediatrics. We will help all candidates to do this if they are not yet registered. We are one of the few agencies that will actually check out all your paper work in order to do this. We are real experts in this process as we have been doing this for the last 5 years every day!


-       All candidates that are not yet registered should be qualified as a specialist in paediatrics inside the European Union (NO CVs will be considered without this requirement) or alternatively should have had the specialist title recognized in an EU member state and have practiced for 3 years as from the date of recognition.

For Registrar positions in Paediatrics the following conditions apply:


- Basic Salary from €56,850 up to €66,946 + overtime + allowances. A Registrar doctor in Paediatrics can expect to earn about €80,000-€100,000 gross/year (including 4-5 on-calls per month).


- 3 weeks holiday per semester.


- Contracts from January 2021 to July 2021 or January 2022.


- A registrar position is a good starting point to get experience in the Irish Health system and progress to a Consultant position in a maximum of 1-2 years.


Basic Requirements and qualifications:


- At least 4-5 years experience in Paediatrics with neonatal experience is required.


- Irish/UK and/or European experience is a ESSENTIAL for these kind of posts.


- IELTS with a band score of 7 points is a requirement with a minimum of 6.5 points in each section. Alternatively you can also sit the OET examination which has a requirement of a B grade level in average in all 4 sections of the exam. Please note this is NOT a requirment to get registered with the IMC if you qualified inside the European Union. Therefore it is ONLY a requirement with the public hospitals in Ireland.


- IMC Registration at least on the General Registrar. Please note this process can take at least 3-4 months for EU qualified candidates. We will help all candidates that are qualified INSIDE the EU area to do this.
